Regen-IT is delivered
within a interactive Workshop, covering all aspects of
regeneration using a
range of non-computer
activities as well as a learning-
simulation to
reinforce key learning points.
Workshops are very effective and
enjoyable ways of engaging a wide range of people in
a meaningful
experience.
Playing the Learning Simulation
RegenIT 10th June 2005???
The
learning-simulation simulates 4 years
(over 4 rounds) in the life of the local area.
Delegates play one
of five teams, Community Safety & Young People; Environment;
Housing; Learning, Jobs & Prosperity; Mobility & Transport;
and Health & Wellbeing.
Each team has targets
to reach in various aspects of implementing a regeneration
strategy across an area, and a set budget from which
to purchase items. Teams must stay within budget, make
improvements and consider the issues in other sectors.
The teams are
responsible for regenerating the area. They need to develop
solutions for a ‘Borough’, considering that
consider agendas/trade-offs and seeking win-win-win solutions
“I will try to get
where we live to be as marvellous
as the one we created today.”
Delegates need to realise
how decisions they make will affect the whole organisation
and wider community.
Delegates have to negotiate, work together and think strategically,
if they want to achieve their goal.
