It helped me to understand more about ‘waste’ through visual learning rather than reports and meetings.

Planit-Waste learning simulation

Planit-WASTE learning simulation looks at waste in terms of the big picture. Waste is not simply a technical or an economic problem. It cannot be isolated from social problems and certainly not environmental issues.

Planit-WASTE models a county with three districts, all with different socio-economic, environmental and waste profiles. The learning simulation is played by five teams, who are judged on sustainability, recycling targets, landfill allowances, waste arisings and viability.

Planit-WASTE has been used in three regions (including in the West Midlands) to bring partnerships together and to consider waste in sustainable terms.
