We used our Learning Simulations as part of Planit-Merseyside which was a finalist in the Bringing People together category of the Academy of Sustainable Communities, Creating the Future Awards 2008.

Planit-Merseyside used planit-sustainability, planit-LAA and govern-IT to provide training for council members, local government officers and Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) organisations to improve their skills in the areas of partnership development, sustainability and collaborative working.

Judges’ comment: “A good example of sustainability working that is strong on outcomes.”

The project was delivered in partnership with Sefton Borough council which delivered 18 workshops across Merseyside. The workshops covered ‘real’ topics such as sustainable communities, Local Area Agreements and governance, with the aim of increasing participants’ understanding of the issues, and giving them the tools to enhance understanding further in their own organisations.

Planit-Merseyside
“
Planit-Merseyside is a unique way of learning about a variety of
complex issues through an interactive computer programme. It has been
a huge success and we  are delighted to be short-listed for the award.
