The future success of South Yorkshire depends on embedding sustainable
development policy and practice into public sector decision-making
and partnerships. Social, economic and environmental factors
need to be balanced. The interdependence of these factors needs
to be built into policy and organisations.
The Solution
A series of workshops have been funded to develop
improved capacity and understanding. These workshops will use
a proven and innovative learning approach that allows delegates
to experience sustainable development in a virtual model (learning-simulation).

The workshop
setting encourages collaboration, improves team working and allows
coaching from experts. In addition to the learning-simulation,
other non-computer based activities encourage the delegates to
consider local issues and how best problems can be solved (Action
Planning). |
